The artwork was thoroughly examined at the Kumu Museum in Tallinn, Estonia, allowing us to confidently state that it is indeed a creation from an Estonian artist, since this museum specializes in Eastern European art and primarily features Estonian works. The vivid realism of this piece is characteristic of the second half of the Soviet era: the government granted artists more freedom and encouraged them to portray people as they truly were – always mindful of avoiding any criticism of the ruling regime.
