The sculpture of Selene’s horse head, originating from the east pediment of the Parthenon in Athens, is one of the best-loved pieces in the British Museum. Replicated by Cosmo Wenman using advanced 3D scanning and printing technology, this expressive piece captures the exacting moment of a horse drawing the chariot of Selene across the sky at dusk. The replica was printed life-size from PLA on a MakerBot Replicator, then finished in Epic Bronze with Alternate Reality Patinas.
