Head of a Deity
sketchfab
The Angkor temple complex dates back to around the 13th century and is carved out of sandstone. The John Young Foundation generously donated this artifact to the John Young Museum of Art in 1998, where it remains as part of their collection under the inventory number 1998.1.85. This bust likely portrays Shiva, a widely revered Hindu deity that was highly esteemed by the ruling monarchs of Angkor during its peak period.
