Head from the Funerary Monument of an Athenian Officer
myminifactory
Athens (Greece), acquired in 1972 features a Marble sculpture circa 330 BC. The larger-than-life head of an armed warrior precisely matches the fracture on an armored man's torso preserved at Athens' National Museum, discovered there in 1927. The reverse side remains unfinished since this statue likely stood within the recessed niche of a monumental funerary naiskos. This sculpture is part of "Scan The World", a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory, through which we are creating a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from around the globe for public access free of charge. Scan The World is an open source, community effort; if you have interesting items nearby and would like to contribute, email stw@myminifactory.com to learn how you can help.
