Head Crusher

Head Crusher

This medieval instrument of torture comprised a plate positioned below the victim's chin, which was connected via a frame to the headpiece. As the torturer slowly turned the handle, the gap between the headpiece and plate narrowed, resulting in the crushing of the skull, including the teeth, jawbone, and facial bones. Ultimately, this process would induce death. Even if the torturer ceased before killing the victim, permanent damage to the facial muscles and structure would have been caused. The victim's head would gradually be crushed, leading to their demise, but not before their jaw had been severely damaged, and possibly even their eyes expelled from their sockets. To exacerbate the agony, the torture master would often delight in striking the metal cap with a small hammer.
