This is an experimental version of the He-111 which was designed to tow the Me 321 Gigant. Only around 12 were ever made before the german military got its hands on large stockpiles of french airplane engines which they used to make the Me 323 Gigant. they were still used to tow other gliders but they were never really used in actual combat
