HDD wall mount bracket for AB manual backup system
thingiverse
I've devised a system where my computer has a hot swap port, and I've set up two HDDs, A and B. Every month, I plug in A first and back it up, then the next month I plug in B. This way, I can easily identify which drive to use for backup. When one drive is inserted, it pushes out the other drive slightly, indicating that it's the one to be used next. I'm aware there are more efficient ways to back up my data, but I wanted a method that would safeguard against power surges and other threats. This system also ensures that if one drive becomes faulty or infected with a virus, I'll still have a reliable backup solution in place. It's not the most advanced approach, but it works for me!
