HDD Pi Case V1

HDD Pi Case V1

This Raspberry Pi case is designed to fit into a standard 3.5in hard drive slot, working seamlessly with tool-less mounting systems. However, I also added the capability for threaded nuts to be inserted, which work flawlessly and make this compatible with any device that a standard hard drive fits into. The nuts I chose are the McMaster-Carr 90480a007 model, costing me $8.32 for 100 nuts delivered right to my doorstep. I'm confident that a local hardware store would have these same nuts available at a significantly lower cost. I highly recommend the Amazon version of these nuts as an alternative. **Printer Specifications:** * **Printer Brand:** Creality * **Printer Model:** Ender 3 * **Rafts:** No * **Supports:** Yes * **Resolution:** 0.40 mm * **Infill:** 15% **Important Notes:** I've printed this part multiple times, and while it's possible to print without supports, you'll end up with some long bridges. I strongly advise against printing supports inside where the nuts go, as it can be nearly impossible to remove them correctly. **Design Process:** This was my first project using Fusion 360 and my first from-scratch design for 3D printing. I started by creating a profile sketch or "master sketch" of an HDD with the screw hole placement. Next, I created a rough Raspberry Pi model since I plan to use many 3D printed projects for the Pi in the future. To create this model, I used my Rough Raspberry Pi Model, which you can find here. You can also see it in the image below. ![Preview With Pi Installed](https://example.com/image1.png#full) Version 2 of this project will be updated soon, as I now have experience with 3D printing and understand what to avoid. I'll likely change the positioning of the Pi to be more centered and make other improvements based on feedback. **Download:** Check out this Project on my Gitlab here.
