This adjustable mount securely holds an HC-SR04 sonar range finder for thorough testing and demonstration purposes. To facilitate convenient sensor handling during software development and experimentation, I crafted this device. My creation meets basic aesthetics standards and seems presentable upon initial inspection. The mounting system offers versatility in its adjustability along a vertical axis, ensuring the sensor remains secure throughout a wide operating range. A substantial M4 hex head bolt is positioned at the pivot point to maintain structural integrity and prevent any sudden movements. The Design Process Initially, I utilized Solidworks for detailed modeling of this device's components. Following model creation, wires were routed through the back plate before being soldered directly onto the sensor module itself. Next, the HC-SR04 sensor was carefully seated within a housing in the front component and subsequently bonded into place using an appropriate adhesive. Subsequently, the rear plate was secured to the forward-facing portion by application of adhesive material. Further assembly entailed bonding the mounting arm to the back plate for enhanced structural support. Finally, the base unit was attached securely to the arm via an M4 bolt.
