HBP Wire Guide

HBP Wire Guide

This Heated Build Platform Wire Guide is specifically designed for the ToM, addressing a common issue with other wire guides that fail to keep wires away from the X, Y axis and heated surface across their range of motion while reducing strain on connectors. The solution involves pulling wires further out front, paired with a strain relief (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:12341). Due to thumbscrews used for leveling the HBP platform, this strain relief is mounted opposite and requires slight modification to clear the 2-pin HBP ABP motor connector. An updated version by Dan (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:15327) has since been released, eliminating the need for cable disconnection and offering both vertical and horizontal mounting options. Assembly involves printing both halves, gluing together with acetone, and attaching to the HBP using a M3 nut/bolt and a 3mm hole in the plywood. When disconnecting the HBP connector, carefully note wire order and use a knife or screwdriver to release each wire from the connector before threading through the guide and reinserting into the connector. Remember not to move the HBP by grabbing cable guides.
