Need a simple and affordable way to detect hazardous chemicals in the air after an earthquake, train derailment, industrial fire, or other incidents? Just insert a standard hazmat card into the slot, attach it to your Inspire 1 drone, and fly it around the area from a safe distance. The added weight of about 30g is negligible for this drone model. Hopefully, the card will return with good news! This version uses my custom-designed "GoPro" mount system for the Inspire 1, but if you prefer to attach it with tape or DualLock instead, then this alternative design is perfect for you. I purchased my hazmat card from an online retailer, but they are widely available elsewhere. Just search for "HazMat Smart Strip" to find one that suits your needs. If you don't have access to a 3D printer, Shapeways offers printing services for custom designs like this one.
