My pool filter's backwash valve started leaking, so I called the local shop to see what was wrong. They told me the gasket is part of the valve assembly and would cost over $100 to replace. I searched everywhere for a replacement gasket but couldn't find one for less than $67 for the whole assembly. It seemed like a lot to pay just for a simple gasket. I sat down and drew up my own design for a gasket key, which fit perfectly into place. To be safe, you might want to secure it in the channel with some RTV silicone sealant. When you install it back into the valve body, make sure to lubricate it with petroleum jelly first. The gasket has two little nubs that help keep it in place. To create this custom gasket, I used a full-flex filament and set my 3D printer to print at .2mm layers with 100% infill. And voila! I now have a functional gasket that doesn't exist for purchase anywhere else.
