Location: Tremper Mound, Scioto County, Ohio. Timeframe: Middle Woodland (Hopewell) Era, spanning 100 BC to AD 500. Notes: Cataloged as 1969a7, the original artifact was discovered by William C. Mills in 1915 and is now housed at the Ohio Historical Center in Columbus, Ohio. A precise replica of the model is part of the North Carolina Archaeological Collection, managed by the Research Laboratories of Archaeology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The model itself was crafted by Chris LaMack.
