The sound system is blasting through the hallways, blaring music and announcements to every corner of the building. The loudspeaker is installed high up on the wall, its metal grille reflecting the fluorescent lights above. Every word that comes out of it echoes off the tile floor, making it impossible for anyone to ignore. The principal's voice booms out, cutting through the chatter and rustling of papers as students scramble to get to their lockers before the bell rings.
