Hatsune Miku, known also as Miku Hatsune, is a virtual singing persona voiced by a singing synthesizer application developed by Crypton Future Media. This 16-year-old girl character boasts long turquoise twintails and utilizes Yamaha Corporation's Vocaloid 2 and Vocaloid 3 technologies for her singing voice. Hatsune Miku further employs Crypton Future Media's Piapro Studio, a VSTi Plugin designed specifically for creating synthesized singing voices. As the second Vocaloid to use the Vocaloid 2 engine and the first Japanese Vocaloid to utilize the Japanese version of this engine, Hatsune Miku has made her mark in the music industry. Her distinctive voice is based on that of renowned Japanese voice actress Saki Fujita. Hatsune Miku has taken to performing at her concerts as a vibrant animated projection.
