Miku Hatsune is a voice library for the VOCALOID2, VOCALOID3, and VOCALOID4 programs as well as software developed by Crypton Future Media and Piapro Studio. Her image has become one of the most famous virtual idol images in the world, created by Crypton Future Media with the voice of seiyuu Saki Fujita for the second version of the VOCALOID voice synthesis program. Her name comes from Japanese and means "The First Sound of the Future." The name is derived from the reduction of "Hajimete no Oto" to "Hatsu oto" (or "Hatsu ne" in another pronunciation of the kanji) which means sound, and Mirai to Miku.
