Hatchet
thingiverse
I attempted the creative task of fashioning a hatchet by designing its print in Maya, followed by printing and combining it with a crafted wooden handle made from scrap 2x4. To enhance appearance, I stained the handle to look old while spray-painting the head for a metallic finish. The hatchet was printed using dark gray PLA on my Replicator with a blue painters tape on removable glass platform, without requiring supports or rafts; it had two shells and 15% infill. It was more of an enjoyable process than a potentially damaging one.
