Hatchbox Filament Plug

Hatchbox Filament Plug

thingiverse

This plug was crafted for Hatchbox 1.75 PLA, potentially compatible with other materials as well. I had been using alternative "Clips" but they kept coming loose so I designed this plug myself. It is very secure - therefore it has a higher likelihood of not falling off. Keep in mind that not all holes in the reel are identical in size. I discovered two on my test reel that were too small for the plug to fit through. If you cannot get it through the hole from inside, insert it from outside then attempt to reinsert it from inside again. Cut off any melted/deformed filament at the end, insert the plug from inside of the reel and guide the filament through the plug. Note: Remove the plug before printing or it may become entangled in the filament. Two versions are included. The short version rests flush with the reel to prevent the box (if you keep filament in the original box) from striking the plug.
