Hasselblad Magazine 12 (C12) Film Back Light Plug

Hasselblad Magazine 12 (C12) Film Back Light Plug

thingiverse

Hasselblad's original Magazine 12 film back (1947 - 1970), also known as the C12 film back, has a hole at the rear so that you can see the numbers on the backing paper of 120 film, to align it with the first frame. To use this back with 220 film, you would cover the hole with a supplied plug, to prevent exposing 220 film which doesn't have backing paper. If you have a C12 back, you probably don't have the light plug. Which is fine since 220 film isn't available. But if you want to use one of the 35mm to 120 film adapters (available elsewhere on Thingiverse) with a C12 back, you'll need the light plug. Well, here you have it. Print it out, plug it in as shown in the photographs and you're good to go. The rim flange on this one make sure that no light passes through from the side edges. Print it with black PLA. The C12 back is better for shooting 35mm film than the A12 back. Because its not as automated, you don't waste as much film in the beginning. Because you can reset the frame counter without unloading the film, you can get to 12 exposures, reset it and shoot another 10 before your 36 exposure 35mm film runs out. You will want to unload it in the dark and roll the film back into the canister - or directly load the film into a developing tank.
