Hasselblad Magazine 12 (C12) Film Back Light Plug
thingiverse
Hasselblad's original Magazine 12 film back, also known as the C12 film back, has a unique feature that allows users to see the numbers on the backing paper of 120 film through a hole at the rear. This enables precise alignment with the first frame. However, when using this back with 220 film, which lacks backing paper, the hole must be covered with a supplied plug to prevent accidental exposure. If you possess a C12 back and find yourself without the light plug, don't worry; it's not necessary since 220 film is no longer available. Nevertheless, if you plan to use one of the 35mm to 120 film adapters with your C12 back, the light plug becomes essential. Fortunately, this light plug is now available for printing and easy installation as shown in the accompanying photographs. The design includes a rim flange that effectively blocks any stray light from passing through the side edges. To produce the plug, simply print it out using black PLA material. This will ensure optimal results. One significant advantage of the C12 back over the A12 back is its manual operation. Without automated resetting, users can avoid wasting film at the beginning and achieve 12 exposures before resetting the frame counter, ultimately allowing for up to 22 shots from a single 36-exposure 35mm roll. For optimal results, always unload the film in complete darkness and carefully rewind it into the canister or directly load it into a developing tank.
