Harriet Tubman Stamp

Harriet Tubman Stamp

Disappointed by the news that the Trump administration was walking back the plan to put Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill, I created this stamp to convert Jacksons into Tubmans myself. Though anti-counterfeiting laws prohibit the willful destruction of, and stamping of advertisements upon, paper money, pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 333 of the United States Code, stamped currency is fit for circulation so long as its denomination remains legible. A full explanation of the legality of currency stamping can be found here: https://blog.adafruit.com/2017/10/15/hey-steven-mnuchin-making-harriet-tubman-20s-seems-totally-ok-ustreasury-stevenmnuchin1/ and here: https://www.stampstampede.org/faq/yes-its-legal/. The handle is 3D printed, and the stamp is laser engraved. Included on Thingiverse are three versions of the stamp handle, and the necessary vector files for engraving the stamp itself. Materials include rubber from RubberStampMaterials.com, ink pads from Amazon.com, glue from Bob-Smith Industries, Inc., and tethers from McMaster-Carr. Pre-made stamps are available for purchase through Etsy at tubmanstamp.etsy.com. How to use the stamp can be found on Vimeo at https://vimeo.com/250692555. Manufacturing videos are also available on Vimeo at https://vimeo.com/319394691. More information, context, and history can be found at tubmanstamp.com. Custom handles (handle only, rubber stamp not included) are available to order through Shapeways: Classic handle - http://shpws.me/QKTBSlim handle - http://shpws.me/QKTA, and minimalist handle - http://shpws.me/QKTC.
