I had issues with my kickstand on my '73 Harley Davidson Sportster bobber's rigid frame staying up so I created a simple retainer for it. This retainer uses a 2-inch hose clamp to secure it to the frame. A strip of rubber is placed between the clamp and the frame, helping keep the retainer in its place while also protecting the paint on the frame from damage. You might need to clip the stand into the retainer by hand rather than kicking it in.
