The Harley Owners Group (HOG) is a membership program created by Harley-Davidson to promote its products and create a sense of community among its customers. The HOG was introduced in 1983 and has since become the largest factory-sponsored motorcycle organization in the world, with over one million members and more than 1400 chapters worldwide. The HOG offers a range of benefits to its members, including organized group rides, exclusive products and product discounts, insurance discounts, and access to the Hog Tales newsletter. Members also receive a one-year full membership when they purchase a new, unregistered Harley-Davidson. In addition to promoting its products, the HOG has become an important part of Harley-Davidson's business strategy. The organization has generated significant revenue for the company through the sale of merchandise and other products offered exclusively to HOG members. The HOG has also played a key role in promoting Harley-Davidson's brand and products globally. In 1991, the first official European HOG Rally was held in Cheltenham, England, and since then, the organization has expanded to include chapters in many countries around the world. In addition to the HOG, Harley-Davidson offers factory tours at four of its manufacturing sites and a museum that exhibits the company's history, culture, and vehicles. The museum is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and features exhibits on people, products, culture, and history, as well as a restaurant, café, and museum store. Harley-Davidson has also celebrated several anniversaries with large-scale events, including the "Ride Home" events that bring Harley riders from around the world to Milwaukee every five years. The company's 105th anniversary celebration was held in 2008 and included events in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, and Kenosha counties. In recognition of its contributions to the labor movement, William S. Harley, Arthur Davidson, William A. Davidson, and Walter Davidson, Sr. were inducted into the Labor Hall of Fame in 2004.
