This frog typically inhabits tropical rain forests on the ground, often among fallen limbs or leaf litter. Color morphs vary from one valley to another in its native range. The base color ranges from bright orange to dull orange, yellow, red, white, or blue. A webbing of black covers the entire body. Some color morphs have clear to dull orange bases with small lines, big lines, speckled, incomplete lines, or a completely black frog with just a few spots.
