In the Duplex Mill project, more in-depth technical knowledge is required for producing beech components. To explain and describe this technical knowledge, I will delve into an old woodworking project of mine - a hardwood plant column. Created over 20 years ago to enhance home furnishings in professional environments, this project featured style elements that stood out amidst sculptures. The hardwood plant column is made from a self-made wooden rotating part, which was inspired by the production methods of old barrel makers. The turning part consists of a glued-together, previously made hollow blank created from several chamfered elements. I plan to depict this method using SolidWorks, as it's crucial for both CAD design and mechanical production. For this project, we will use hardwood for the plant column, which will be stained dark beech in this case. As I revisit this old project in SolidWorks, I plan to customize its design according to today's needs. While the SolidWorks version may look slightly different than the attached PDF file, it reflects the updated preferences for a potential recreation of the plant column.
