Hardware Cleat
thingiverse
I'm currently using this mounting cleat as part of a towel rod system that arrived without necessary hardware. The purpose-built design involves attaching the smaller side against a wall or surface, allowing the ends to extend beyond the base. This clever setup enables a set screw on the bracket to clip onto it, effectively securing itself in place with one end firmly anchored on the cleat. As you'd probably guess just by looking at it, this is an efficient solution. I actually created my own custom design using an existing towel rod cleat as a model. I easily adapted the openSCAD source code to suit my needs, and you can do the same. It's worth noting that while this design might seem quite straightforward, it does highlight just how effortless it can be to tackle common issues without resorting to ordering replacement parts from Amazon or relying on their suppliers to send new hardware. I was able to fix the issue by modifying the openSCAD source as desired. A 3mm brim with hairspray is my habit for ABS.
