Hardaway-Dalton spear point is a remarkable artifact, discovered at the Hardaway site in Stanly County, North Carolina. This significant find dates back to the Late Paleoindian period, spanning from approximately 8500 to 7900 BC. The spear point was crafted from metavolcanic rock and measures 53.7 millimeters in length, 29.6 millimeters in width, and 6.3 millimeters in thickness. The artifact has been meticulously documented as catalog no. 1010a11 within the North Carolina Archaeological Collection at the Research Laboratories of Archaeology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A detailed illustration of this spear point can be found in "The Formative Cultures of the Carolina Piedmont," a publication by Joffre L. Coe, featured in Transactions of the American Philosophical Society vol. 54, pt. 5, from 1964. Figure 57 showcases the artifact, while model interpretations were provided by Stephanie Grant and Steve Davis.
