Hard hats are helmets designed primarily for use in workplaces like construction and industrial sites to safeguard workers' heads from harm caused by falling objects, collisions with other objects, debris, rain, and electrical shock. Bands inside the helmet distribute its weight and the force of any impact evenly across the top of the head. A suspension also creates a space of about 30 mm (1.2 inches) between the helmet's outer shell and the wearer's head, reducing the likelihood that an object striking the shell will be transmitted directly to the skull. Some helmet shells feature a midline reinforcement ridge to enhance impact resistance.\n*1 model (medium poly) with materials.
