Hard Drive Universal Filament Roller

Hard Drive Universal Filament Roller

Inspired by CreativeTools' Universal Stand-Alone Filament Spool Holder http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:508896 Made a universal roller using ball bearings, but it wasn't enough, so I decided to stick with my scrap hard drive as a roller. After using a roll of tape to support the spool, I created this to better centralize the spool on the disc, and I'm very happy with the result. I made the base and the rod extremely tight so they fit perfectly together without needing glue, but because of that, I applied too much pressure and almost broke the base. The center-guide cone works fine on the big spool, but it doesn't work well on the small one as shown in the picture. Note: Hard drive spindle diameter: 32mm Base to disc hole: 32mm Rod diameter: 15mm Rod height: 120mm Rod to base hole: 15mm If your prints are too tight to fit, simply file or sand them down a bit before assembling.
