Hard drive shim

Hard drive shim

thingiverse

This is really super stupid simple. It's a 1mm high rectangle that makes it special enough to post on Thingiverse? What's the big deal about being exactly the size of a 2.5" hard drive for laptops? I upgraded from a standard hard drive to a solid state hard drive, which is thinner by nature. To make up for the height difference, I printed these shims (some at 50% Z) to stack under the hard drive. Maybe someone out there can't do 3D design, but has a printer and wants something like this. That's why I posted it. It's not exciting, it's not pretty, and it's certainly not ground-breaking. But it is useful, which makes all the difference.
