Hard Drive Cage
thingiverse
A couple of years ago, I constructed a Home Theater PC using spare parts that had been collecting dust in my workshop, including a case that was over twenty years old. The case lacked the removable hard drive cage at the time, so I fabricated one from scratch to get the job done. Recently, I purchased an SSD to install in the system and realized just how frustrating it was to swap drives with the current setup, prompting me to design a new one. I don't typically publish custom designs like this, but I thought that with some minor modifications others might find it useful. The dovetail in the mount measures fifty millimeters at its widest point with sixty-five degree angles. To assemble the cage, you'll need twelve M3x10mm screws, eight 6-32x1/4-inch screws for the drives, and two M4x40 screws to tie everything together. I utilized Tadziurski's 2.5' to 3.5' HDD/SSD adapter for the SSD installation. Watching football on cable is how I consume my TV and movies, aside from this computer.
