A series of intense learning experiences (aka "crashes") made me realize that the likelihood of ruining an expensive camera in a crash is almost absolute. After losing my fourth camera on takeoff in dew-kissed grass (it's clear a few drops damaged the board), I decided to create a lightweight ABS case that shields the fragile electronics AND serves as a sturdy mount on my frame. The case is precisely tailored to fit the PZ0420 series of cameras, featuring internal cutouts for the large capacitor and three openings on the rear for connections and communication ports. The lens hole accommodates the standard 2.8mm lens and can be effortlessly enlarged for larger lenses or the RMRC f1.2 night vision lens. You can secure it with zip ties, CA glue, or simply press-fit it into most frames without sanding. After utilizing this setup for over 18 months (and enduring numerous more "learning experiences"), I've not lost a single camera. Frames...yes. Arms…motors…antennas….yes. Cameras, still intact.
