Harbor Freight / Portland chainsaw trigger switch
thingiverse
This is the trigger switch for a harbor freight "Portland" brand electric chainsaw. Guess which part tends to break easily? It's the smaller arm that comes off at a 90-degree angle. When it breaks, you're left with a non-functional chainsaw. For those who have this problem and have access to 3D printing, here's a spare part solution. One image shows the part itself, while the other showcases a natural-PLA version installed in the chainsaw, looking just like a normal trigger. Make sure you still have the original spring, as you'll need it when installing this new part. The infill is up to you - more material may lead to longer lifespan, but a hexagonal structure inside could also be beneficial. If you're able to successfully use this fix on a different chainsaw model, please leave a comment so others can learn about compatibility with other makes and models. Stay safe while cutting things!
