Harbor Freight Flashlight Belt Clip

Harbor Freight Flashlight Belt Clip

A friend bursts into my shop, snatches up my Harbor Freight flashlight and declares, "This needs a belt clip!" So I get to work and make one. Sometimes all it takes is the right spark to ignite creativity. I add a clip design that will hold the same 15mm magnet as my trusty tubing cutter. Now, I need to buy one of those sleek new red triangle flashlights and see if a clip makes sense for its unique design. I discover that older modules of the flashlight use wood-type screws in plastic, while newer models employ 3-millimeter threaded screws with inserts. To make it work, I had to use longer screws, since the screws in the flashlight are recessed and need to engage the inserts. Twelve millimeter length 3mm threaded screws do the trick perfectly, even re-tapping the plastic in flashlights without inserts. I snap a photo of the two different screws for future reference.
