Harbor Freight Drill Press Front Panel
thingiverse
I'm moving my older Harbor Freight floor drill press into my new workshop and I've already broken the front panel that holds the power switch and light switch. Years of exposure to the Texas heat have made the plastic extremely brittle, so it cracked at every attachment point. After gathering all the pieces, I managed to reassemble enough to take decent measurements. This is what I came up with. The slopes on the front aren't identical, but they're remarkably close. Now I'm about to run my first print and see how well it matches the original. All the holes should line up within the best tolerances of the Chinese factory where the original was made. I'm not entirely sure which model drill press this is for since all my original labels have vanished, but I know it's a slightly older one with a round table that has a lubricant catch bottle underneath and a lubricant feed bottle on the left side of the head. The light is recessed into the head and there are three pulleys under the top shroud. I'm hoping someone else will find this useful as well. EDIT 6/11/2018: I encountered some tiny trouble installing it on my drill press because the plate around the main switch was a bit out of square. I've updated the file here with a version that makes the cutout 1mm wider in both directions while keeping all the holes in the same places. This should compensate for the switch plate being a tad off. If you downloaded before 6/11/2018, you might want to download again.
