I Designed a Plugin to Save Cake Designs Directly to Computer-Aided Design Files Using Inkscape, the popular open-source vector graphics editor, I created an add-on that streamlines the process of converting cake designs into 3D models. This plugin allows users to export their creations as SCAD files, making it easier than ever to bring their ideas to life. The Prusa i3 printer was used for testing purposes due to its high-quality prints and versatility. The settings chosen included a resolution of 0.2 millimeters, which provides an excellent balance between detail and print speed. Infill density was set to 20%, ensuring that the models are strong enough to hold their shape while still being lightweight. To achieve this level of precision, I made sure to disable rafts and supports in the printer settings. Rafts can add unnecessary bulk to the model, while supports can be a hassle to remove after printing is complete. By eliminating these features, users can focus on perfecting their designs without worrying about the extra details. With this plugin, anyone can create intricate cake designs with ease. Whether you're a seasoned baker or just starting out, this tool will help you take your creations to the next level.
