Hanji Lamp

I drew up a Hanji-inspired lamp based on a Google image. The design features a footprint with feet up, with solid bottom layers dependent on filament transparency and lamp strength. To create this unique piece, I used Sunlu wood, which is bright and semi-transparent, along with a 400lm lamp. It took me 12 solid layers to block out enough light, while the other side had a default of about 5 layers. A split lid was designed to fit paper between the sides, including a solid option as well. I printed four sides, one foot, and either the solid or split lid separately. Next, I added paper on each side, assembled all the sides into the foot, and attached the lid on top. Then, I carefully removed one side and applied a thin string of CA glue to the 45-degree edge, leaving about 10mm at the bottom so the side wouldn't stick to the foot. I left around 5-7mm at the top to avoid gluing the top lid in place. With the lamp already mounted in the foot, I carefully pressed the sides together while the glue solidified to prevent light from leaking through the joints. To complete the assembly, I removed the next side and added more glue, replacing it before moving on to the last edge. This way, both edges were done at once, ensuring a secure fit. The result is a lamp with removable sides as one piece from the foot and a detachable top lid. If I had my choice, I'd use a darker wood color, but Sunlu was what I had available at the time.
