Haniwa Stamp

"Haniwa" refers to a collection of Japanese clay figures crafted during the 3rd to 6th centuries AD. The Wikipedia article on Haniwa provides in-depth information on this ancient art form. We drew inspiration from the reference image found at http://www.tnm.jp/uploads/r_collection/LL_32.jpg, which showcases the intricate details of these clay figurines. Interestingly, the Haniwa figures convey a binary message through both their design and the accompanying stamp. When stamped with an "OK" mark, they indicate approval, while a "ReTake (not OK)" stamp signifies rejection or reevaluation. The exchangeable stamp parts are secured in place using pins, allowing for versatility in expressing different messages. This project was conceived as part of a school assignment under the guidance of Miss Kajiwara. For those interested in acquiring finished Haniwa products, they can be purchased exclusively through Minne.com (Japan only). The product ID is 2343887.
