UPDATE Look here for the second evolution : http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1003914 This is my hanging z-axis Mount for the Velleman K8200/3drag printer with Velleman K8204 trapezoid leadscrew upgrade. I found the original leadsrew mount looking quite strange and because of missing upper support for the leadscrew it was kind of wobbly and noisy during print too. Therefore I changed my z-axis to have it hanging down from the top of the frame. This gives a bit (about 20mm) more build height and makes the z movement very smooth. The only parts needed in addition are some screws to fix the follower nut. All other screws for mounting are the ones that came originally with the printer. The ball bearing is from the stock Z-axis mount and the flex coupler for the motor comes with the leadscrew kit. (I chose to keep one I had already in use) To make it easier to tweak the parts, if necessary, I included the 123d Design files as well. Please leave a comment about your experiences and ask if something is unclear. Instructions IMPORTANT! You will need to reverse the Z-axis direction in your firmware after mounting the motor top down! You will need each part once. Print with 0.2mm to 0.25mm layer height and 30% infill. After mounting the leadscrew into the bearing clamp it tight from top and bottom between the flex coupler and the printed "counter" nut". Make sure the bearing sits fixed in the holder. If it moves, use glue to fix it. Align the motor and follower nut properly, so the leadscrew goes through the bearing without tension to one side. The motor mount sits quite stiff without additional fixing, but it can be fixed with screws too, if necessary.
