Hanging Soap Dish for Square Shower Rod angled at 45 degrees
thingiverse
This wall-mounted soap dish will only work properly on towel rods that are square and mounted at 45 degrees. I built this one myself to use in my bathroom, so I created the design from scratch. I modeled it in Blender, printed it out using PLA, gave it a coat of paint, then sealed it with clear coat for protection. The model is designed to fit snugly over a 20mm x 20mm square rod while still allowing it to slide side to side for easy positioning. It's likely strong enough to hold other shower items like small bottles of shampoo, razors, and more. I hope you enjoy using this soap dish! Update: A new version is now available that's even stronger and easier to print. After a few months of use, I accidentally knocked the original print off the rod and it shattered. Since this was one of my first models created in Blender, I decided to remodel it in Fusion 360 to see how far I've come with my 3D modeling skills. I've uploaded the new version for you to use, and I'm excited to share that it's easier to print than the original, requiring only supports on the floating 45-degree angle sections. It's also much stronger due to thicker supports attached to the base, and I think it looks nicer with subtle fillets that soften the sharp corners. For this print, I carefully removed it from the bed, cleaned up any leftover support material on the underside, and gave it a few coats of clear coat spray paint to seal it. It looks great and has been doing its job well for about a year now without discoloring or molding.
