These brackets support poles up to 1.9 inches in diameter, which means you can use PVC, dowel rods, or similar objects that are 1.9 inches on the outside. I personally am using a 1.5 inch SCH40 PVC pipe and it fits perfectly because of its 1.9 inch outer diameter. This allows me to hold my filament spools securely. You can definitely adapt these brackets for use with smaller diameter rods, poles, or pipes as well. The bottom cradle design helps keep smaller poles stable and prevents them from moving around too much. I will add photos once the system is permanently mounted and operational.
