This is a hanging mount for the Original MMU2(s) Filament Buffer.
[PC4-M10 Version]

Features:

Quick & Easy to load

Reuses most of the original parts

Keeps the Buffer out of the way

Clean simple filament path to the MMU2(s) (Prevents MMU malfunctions caused by PTFE tubes twisting the filament)

Some Photos provided by p0lar. (Thank You)

EDIT: 9/10/2020 Modified the main body so the Lock hook can be printed laying down. This will make the hook stronger.

Print instructions

How does it work

<oembed url="https://www.youtube.com/embed/f4RhJJPazQU"></oembed>

Printing:
PETG Recommended - It helps make the latch hook flexible enough to open easily.
2 Perimeter Layers
5% Infill
No Supports needed
This mount is 24 cm long

Hardware:
10x PC4-M10 Tube connector (Test your threads with the ConnectorThreadTest.stl file. You should have one in your spare parts bag. And only tighten the bolt enough to engage the nylon lock. It should remain loose enough for the hinge to move freely

Other Suggested Items

Filament Management System

Hanging Mount for Rubbermaid 21 cup Drybox

Hanging Side Mount

Spool Skate

Drybox Desiccant Dome

PTFE Tube Cap

PC4 - M10 Cap

Double Stack Ikea LACK Enclosure

Design Choices For those of you that are curious

This version uses PC4-M10 Passthrough connectors. I don't like this version as much as my other version that uses PC4-M6 connectors. Here is why. When a spool gets tangled or knotted the filament gets pulled so tight that the PTFE tube will push all the way through the Buffer to the other tube on the other side. That renders the buffer useless and is difficult fix when the mount is in an enclosure.

The MMU2(s) works a LOT better when the PTFE tubes leading up to it are straight and come up from the lower back of the printer. This prevents the Filament from spinning and twisting inside the tube. This helps to keep the filament curved the correct direction to go through the MMU with the correct alignment. So keep enough slack in the Tubes to allow for this but not so much extra slack that it has to curve to one side.

Using the 3mm ID PTFE tube makes it way easier to load and especially unload filament. When the Extruder leaves a blunted tip on the filament it can become very difficult to pull back out of a 2mm ID PTFE tube like the ones that ship with the MMU2(s)

By locating the buffer inside the Enclosure the exposed filament stays dry by the warm air all around it. It also keeps the filament path to the MMU clean and straight.
