Hanger Replacement for 36-LED Lamp
thingiverse
Replacement hanger for a 36-LED light. The original hanger broke soon after I got this light. I think it is a fairly common model of lamp -- I've seen them for sale at several places. Uses 3 AA batteries. Is blindingly bright and makes a good trouble lamp. The hanger swings back into the bottom of the lamp when not in use. Instructions I printed in PLA with .25mm layers, 20% infill, 2 skins, with support. The 36-LED light must be opened to replace the hanger. First remove the batteries and the three screws, one near where the hanger attaches and the other two at the 'battery' end. After that, it's a squeeze and pry operation not unlike opening a TV remote controller. Once you get it started and you can see which cover has tabs the process becomes easier. The cover part with tabs needs to be squeezed inward while prying the case halves apart. I found I could do it without tools once I figured it out. Once opened, the two covers are still connected by two wires. You don't need to disassemble any further. Just swing one cover so it is perpendicular to the other in order to access the pin that holds the hanger. Use needle nose pliers to pull out the friction-fit pin that holds the remains of the broken hanger. Insert the new hanger and use the pliers again to push the pin back in through the case and hanger. This, of course, requires that you align the hole in the hanger with the holes in the case. When aligned properly, the pin goes in with a little force. Then re-assemble by snapping it all together and putting the screws back in place.
