Handwheel for mini lathe MD65 (Proxxon SD300)
thingiverse
I design a custom handwheel for my mini lathe Hobbymat MD65, identical to Proxxon SD300. My lathe has no lock nut on its Z axis, only a continuous lead screw with 1mm pitch. Cranking the support is a tedious task with the original handwheel. To make it easier, I create a new handwheel that fits directly over the original one. All you have to do is remove the existing knob by unscrewing it. Next, place the new handwheel on top and secure it with an M5 screw. The knob is attached to the handwheel using a sawed M8 screw with an M6 thread drilled into it. Be sure that the M8 screw protrudes 0.1-0.2mm from the knob so that it can be turned smoothly.
