Handsfree Mount for the Handy
thingiverse
After several revisions of my Handy handsfree mount, this is the latest refinement. It replaces the bottle holder type top piece and replaces it with a ring clamp. This allows the Handy to rest directly against the stomach. The base has been replaced with a V-shaped base that uses a lot less material but is equally stable and more comfortable. I've included a one-piece version for larger print beds, as well as a three-piece version for smaller printers like the Ender 3. The latter version includes dowel holes. I'm including dowels that you can print. Or you can use a wooden dowel that it just under 6mm in diameter and about 40mm long. The smallest I could find was 1/4" (6.3mm), so I just had to whittle it down to fit. Required hardware: M5 bolt and wingnut for securing the handy into the clamp. M4 bolts for securing the PVC pipe to the printed pieces. Two straight pieces of 3/4” PVC pipe and a right angle elbow. One piece is 7.5 inches and the other is 14.25 inches, but you’ll want to size yours to your own comfort fit. I currently do not have the PVC glued together, as it seems secure, though in previous versions I did glue the elbow to the straight pieces. If you want to use the optional adjustable hirth joints, print two of each. Designed for an M6x30mm hex bolt and an M6 wingnut (with a washer) so it can be adjusted on the fly. The joints are superglued into the PVC. I used lengths of PVC for the adjustable version as follows, but you'll want to size to your own personal preference: 2.75 inches, 6.75 inches, and 7 inches.
