Hands-off Bagel Cutter
thingiverse
This print is a modification from mverive's bagel cutter. I aimed to design a cutter that could be placed on a flat, solid surface for stability, ensuring my hands or those of my kid remain away from the cutting area where the knife blade operates. Even current designs can pose a risk, as users often angle the blade forward or backward to apply greater force, which can lead to hand injuries. I also sought to create a sturdier handle by applying force over a larger area and adding a wide base for stability. Additionally, I wanted a holder that could accommodate thicker commercial bagels, as shown in the provided picture where homemade bagels fit well, and bigger bagels fit snugly. .stl files for both holder sizes are included, with the v2 file designed for the more accommodating size. I used PLA, 0.2mm layer thickness, 15% infill (gyroid pattern), supports only over the buildplate.
