Hands-Free GPS using iPhone
thingiverse
Your iPhone can function as a navigation tool instead of using a dedicated GPS due to its accessibility to address book data for map apps, response to voice commands through Siri, and hands-free speakerphone capabilities. Mounted on your car's visor, it is conveniently positioned and offers voice control for dialing. The Hands-Free GPS system can be assembled using 3mm carbon fiber tubes, bamboo skewers, or steel rods, along with zip ties for phone holder straps. Once assembled, insert your phone, tighten the zip ties, and secure the rods to the plastic parts with super glue. Position the phone near the mirror or edge of the windshield and tuck the rods and visor bracket between the visor and roof for a hands-free driving experience. Tested to work with iPhone 4S and iPhone 5, feel free to share your experience using other phones.
