Hands-Free Door Opener to Help Against the Spread of Coronavirus
thingiverse
I have designed this foot door latch pull based on an idea from John Opsahl. The door of my building has a latch and I wanted to be able to pull the latch and the door at the same time hands-free. The video below shows how to use this foot door latch pull. * https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Zc3n0h3D7s * https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHdGCB150dI Door handles are among the most germ-infested objects in houses, hospitals, factories, and elderly homes. By using our foot to open a door instead of our bare hands, we can work together to avoid further passing on COVID-19. Let's work together to stop the spread! Print parts as orientated in the STLs. You will need to print: * 1 x guiding plate * 1 x moving grip * 1 x bracket * 1 x ring * 2 x spacers Plus you will need: * 1 x 608 bearing (probably the most commonly available bearing, used for skateboard wheels and other things) * 3 x screws to screw the guiding plate to the door * 1 x screw to screw the bracket to the door * string * optional: rubber bands if the spring in your latch does not have enough force to pull the moving grip up Assembly (the photos will assist): 1. Lay the ring on a flat surface and press the bearing all the way in. 2. Push a spacer into each side of the bearing. 3. Assemble with the bracket. Share your findings in the comments section. Happy printing! #HackThePandemic
