<p>Materialise released a Handsfree Door Opener to help against the spread of the Corona-virus.<br/> In my opinion the design wasn't optimized for FDM 3D-printers so I did a redesign.<br/> Kuddos to their original idea, I just redesigned the idea so that the handle could be printed without support on any FDM printer in a shorter amount of time.<br/> I print them in PLA using my Prusa MK3 in just 1h45min a piece.</p> <p>Link to their door opener:<br/> <a href="https://www.materialise.com/en/hands-free-door-opener">https://www.materialise.com/en/hands-free-door-opener</a></p> <p>The door opener is compatible with a wide range of door handles with diameters from 18 to 22mm.<br/> There are 3 different designs to be used with M3, M4 and M5 nuts and bolts.</p> <p>Feel free to redesign the thing to fit your style of door handle.</p> <p>Just add four 16mm long bolts and nuts and you can Corona-proof any door. A piece of rubber (cut up bicycle tires) can help avoid the rotation of the doorhandle.</p> <p>Let's print as many doorhandles as possible and donate them to retirement homes, local supermarkets, ...<br/> Together we can help flatten the curve!</p> <h3>Print instructions</h3><p>0.3mm layer height<br/> 10% infill<br/> Generic PLA</p>
