Hands free door opener / handle
thingiverse
To prevent the spread of germs at work, I created a simple device that attaches to the bottom of a door, allowing you to open it with your foot instead of touching handles. This reduces the risk of spreading germs on high-touch areas like communal toilet doors. I printed this design sideways to increase its strength. The infill can be set to any percentage, but 50% or higher is recommended for durability. I chose 100% and it works well without needing supports. There are two versions: a narrow one (about 30mm wide) and a wider version (approximately 90mm wide). The hook can be mounted in different positions. When attached to the side of the door, high up, you can use your forearm to open it. Alternatively, if you attach it to the bottom of the door but point the hook upwards, you can drag the door open with the sole of your shoe. However, this may put more stress on the print than using your toes when the hook is pointing down.
