Handrail pole mount
prusaprinters
I wanted to install a handrail and I did not like the commercial off the shelf products we get in my country. I wanted to use a Chromes Aluminum pipe of 38mm (1.5inch) diameter which I could obtain at low cost, but the mountings I could get looked super flimsy and are more meant to attach to a wooden pole, which I did not want. So I created this mount to fit over the pipe. It attached to the wall using 3 Long fisher plugs (screw 3mm dia, plug 6mm and at least 50mm long). The mounting has a stopper with a plastic screw that you print and inser in the back to lock the mounting onto the pole. You have to print the mounting horizontal with its opening top and bottom using support to give it maximum strength, and use at least 30% infill. I recommend PETG ro a really good PLA+. I used a mount every 500mm on my handrail.NOTE: USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. THIS HAS NOT BEEN CERTIFIED OR GUARANTEED IN ANY WAY.
